Need a job? Supplier Freudenberg-NOK General Partnership has 113 white-collar positions to fill by summer, and the vast majority of them are in the U.S. “We just got approval to fill these positions,” Sarah O'Hare, vice president-human resources and communications, tells Ward's. “We're hoping by mid-summer to have most of these positions filled.” ADVERTISEMENT The joint-venture company, with U.S. headquarters in Plymouth, MI, produces elastomeric seals for engines, transmissions, brakes, axles and steering systems. A click on the “careers” tab of the fngp.com website reveals openings in the U.S. for quality managers, sales engineers, project managers, buyers and laboratory managers in places such as Cleveland, GA; Northfield, NH; Houston; Milan, OH; Morristown, IN, and Plymouth. O'Hare says she is not suggesting Freudenberg-NOK has been immune the past few years to the difficulties that have dogged the auto industry and the many other industries the company serves. Automotive remains its largest customer. Freudenberg-NOK is in a better position financially after closing four manufacturing plants in 2009 (in Scottsburg and Ligonier, IN; and Laconia and Franklin, NH). Three more North American plants are slated to close this year (in Spencer, IA; Germantown, WI; and Queretaro, Mexico), eliminating 180 jobs. © 2010 Penton Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
