Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter has been covering the automotive industry for 27 years. Since 1984, he has been a reporter and editor at Ward's AutoWorld magazine, a business-to-business publication aimed at a wide cross-section of automotive professionals at auto companies and their suppliers. He was named editor in February 1999, taking over from David C. Smith, who started the magazine in 1971. Winter also does a weekly “Auto Report” on WJR Radio AM 760, one of the midwest's largest radio stations and is interviewed frequently by local and national media regarding automotive issues, including CNN and The New York Times . Either individually or as part of the Ward's AutoWorld editorial team, he has won more than 30 journalism awards since 1984, including the coveted Jesse H. Neal award, considered the Pulitzer Prize of business journalism. He has degrees in journalism and English from the University of Colorado.
